The new glass fibre shown at this year’s Safety & Health Expo at the NEC in Birmingham, continues to gain interest from the UK utility industry alongside US giants like Bright House Networks who have recently added the Lunar™ to their fleet.
“Little Giant continues to enhance its product line of fibreglass ladders with groundbreaking safety features to address the risks that working professionals often face,” said Ryan Moss, CEO, Little Giant Ladder Systems and Vice President of the American Ladder Institute. “The new Combo SXE and Lunar™ ladder designs feature a significant reduction in weight, as well as increased versatility features that not only make them easy to use, but also significantly minimises the possibility for injuries, particularly debilitating shoulder and back injuries from handling much heavier traditional ladders. With its commitment to safety in the workplace, Bright House Networks’ decision to outfit its employees with the Combo SXE and Lunar™ is a testament to its dedication to workplace safety.”
The Lunar™ extension ladder is the lightest industrial-grade fibreglass extension ladder in the world, up to 25% lighter than ordinary extension ladders by utilising Little Giant’s exclusive LiteWave™ fibreglass stile technology, which results in significant weight reduction with industrial strength and durability. The Lunar™ also includes Little Giant’s exclusive side-mounted double pulley system, which reduces the force needed to extend the fly section by half.
“Bright House Networks is committed not only to the well-being of our employees, but safety on the job site as well,” said Jeff Spackman, director of corporate safety, Bright House Networks. “The new Combo SXE and Lunar™ are lightweight and easy to use, which helps our technicians to more easily and safely complete their jobs.”
TB Davies is currently working closely with Little Giant’s engineering team to ensure the product is suitable for the UK market incorporating safe lean angle indicator, QR codes to instructional video and “Do Not Climb” rungs at the top with optional cable hooks and pole grips for safer operation.
