Local ladder firm TB Davies in Cardiff is proud to announce that they have secured a new three-acre site in the Cardiff Bay area of the city. The relocation of the TB Davies (Cardiff) Ltd office and warehouse facility heralds an exciting new development in their continued success as one of the largest ladder suppliers in the UK.
TB Davies (Cardiff) Ltd has been recognised locally as a landmark on Penarth Road in Cardiff for over forty years. Celebrating seventy years in business, the 4th generation, independent family run business has become one of the largest industrial ladder suppliers in the UK. The imminent relocation to a new, larger site with increased facilities is supported by strong sales growth and recent expansion of the company portfolio.
TB Davies (Cardiff) Ltd boast the largest range of ladders and ladder supplies nationwide with a product range which extends to over forty different varieties from ladders and loft ladders to podium steps and scaffold towers. The innovative company also provides specific training courses for ladder, scaffold tower and work at height projects having recently also achieved accreditation as an approved PASMA (Prefabricated Access Suppliers’ & Manufacturers’ Association) Training Provider.

The new site is situated on Lewis Road in the buildings and land formerly occupied by Capital Coated Steel and is just over a mile away from the current premises on Penarth Road. “Choosing the right location was key,” added David, “we have a highly skilled workforce so it was important when looking for a new site to retain their support and expertise.”
Francis Camilleri, Head of Business Development explained how the new premises will be organised to continue to grow the business commercially. “The site has two units: one, a high eave distribution warehouse, the second, a fully equipped engineering workshop covering approximately 48,000 sq ft. This will enable both increased capacity in finished stock and also manufacturing and engineering capabilities that our building on Penarth Road wouldn’t allow.”
Francis added, “The Company grew by over 16% last year in a highly competitive sector. To maintain this we need to continue making large investments in finished stock to service our customers on a next day delivery basis across the UK. We also need to invest in bringing innovative new products that will develop target markets.”
The site has been acquired with the support of the National Westminster Bank Commercial Banking Team in Cardiff. TB Davies (Cardiff) Ltd promises minimal disruption to its next day delivery service when relocation begins in August. The company are planning a grand opening ceremony to welcome everyone to the new location later this year.
