Keep safe, working at height
Training Academy

Online Training Now Available

We now offer online training for both PASMA and Ladder Association courses. Please call our sales team together with details of the attendees and we'll arrange the rest. Attendees do the theory online, and at a later date complete the practical element.

TB Davies created the Working at Height Training Academy to share our experience and expertise with your staff and be able to offer a wide range of Working at Height safety courses from PASMA and The Ladder Association at our approved training centre.

Ladder Training Courses from The Ladder Association are a part of a national training scheme for users, supervisors and managers wanting to equip themselves with the knowledge, skills and confidence necessary to use ladders legally and safely.

Approved Scaffold Tower training courses from PASMA, the industry body that governs mobile access towers. PASMA carefully controls the proficiency and competence as required by the Work at Height Regulations.

Frequently Asked Questions on Training

Why should I get training to use ladders and scaffold towers?

To get work on most UK construction sites you will need a Ladder or PASMA Card from the Ladder Association and PASMA. These are the two industry bodies that manage the courses for learning and gaining qualifications to use ladders and scaffold towers in a correct, safe manner. TB Davies is an authorised training center for both and successfully completing a course with us will enable you to get an approved photocard that is valid for 5-years. This card will enable you to get work on a managed construction site.

If you wish to learn more about working safely at height and have no need for a photocard, then our courses are still valid and applicable. You will learn a significant amount about working safely at height. Our qualified trainers will guide you through the types of product and situations which you should use a particular product. Our scaffold tower courses will educate you on the importance of correctly building your tower. You will also cover common pitfalls and things to watch out for when you work from ladders and scaffold towers.

Will my LadderCard cover the new standards?

Yes. All the courses from the Ladder Association are taught to cover all aspects of past and current legislation, incuding the new EN131 Professional and Non-professional standards. Candidates will understand what they should look out for when using or purchasing EN131 ladders in future.

Can I do the Ladder Inspector course without doing the Ladder User course?

No. You will need to satisfactorily complete the Ladder User course initially before taking the Inspector course. However, you could take the combined Ladder User and Inspector course, which is a full-day course.
