Reducing musculoskeletal injuries
The HyperLite™ SumoStance® is the only extension ladder in the world with Little Giant’s patented SumoStance levelling outrigger system, which more than doubles the ladder’s base width and increases side-tip stability and removes the need to use any third party stability device.
The SumoStance’s intuitive safety features help ensure a safe, stable set-up for any job on almost any surface and is still lighter than many other manufacturer’s lightest ordinary extension ladders.
Additional safety features – built into every ladder
- SumoStance levelling outrigger system, more than doubles the ladder’s base width and increases side-tip stability by up to 600 per cent.
- SumoStance neatly folds away for storing on a roof rack system.
- An additional side-to-side spirit level and front-to-back angle indicator, make it possible to set up the ladder safely.
- The SumoStance levels the ladder for use on uneven terrain
Dual-Pulley Rope Operation
a. The side-mounted, dual-pulley system, which reduces the effort required to lift the top section by 45%, a saving of between 5-12kg and removes a potential trip hazard caused by traditional single centre-pulley rope systems.
b. Operator posture is improved as the ladder extension can be operated from a standing position, unlike traditional push-up ladders that require you to stoop and use your back muscles to manually lift the top sections.
c. The ladder can be extended to its full length regardless of the users’ height or strength.
Weight
a. The patent-pending HyperLite lightweight ladder weighs up to 40% less than the leading competitor’s standard fibreglass ladder without sacrificing strength and stability. Ordinary aluminium push-up extension ladders are heavy; and always have been. The leading cause of extension ladder injury is linked to the weight of the ladder—often resulting in torn rotator cuffs, herniated disks, ankle sprains and knee ligament tears from loading and unloading or carrying heavy traditional extension ladders. These injuries have simply been part of using extension ladders, until now.
Reduce Ladder Accidents
a. Ground Cue™ is a bottom-rung signal (sensory & audible) that trains the operator to feel and hear an audible alert reminding him or her it is safe to step off the ladder. Missing the bottom rung causes close to 20% of all ladder-related falls, making it one of the two most common causes of ladder-related injuries, according to a study published by the American Ladder Institute. The Ground Cue is designed to prevent these types of accidents.
b. The patent-pending Hi-Viz green rail is one of the most easily detected colour hues to the human eye. Why does a lightweight ladder need to be hi-viz? Some of the most catastrophic falls are caused by people who walk or drive into an extension ladder in use.
c. Built-in spirit level ensures the ladder is level.
d. Top three rungs are coloured in red to warn the user not to climb them.
e. The patent-pending Sure-Set™ foot allows you to set the feet in either flat positions for paved or decked areas or spike positions for soft ground and have them stay in place.
f. Wide flat rungs provide great comfort and reduce foot fatigue.
Durability
a. The Hyperlite colour has been developed to reflect UV light and field-tested in the Utah desert region with extreme weather regularly experiencing summer highs in excess of 40 Celsius and over 3000 hours of sunlight to sub-zero winters and 1.2 meters of snowfall.
b. The 5-year warranty covers any mechanical fault caused by manufacturing defect, which means you can climb your ladder safe in the knowledge that if you do ever need our expert help in any way, we are here for you.
c. The rope-operation ensures the top section is located correctly on the rungs after each use. This reduces wear and tear seen on traditional push-up ladders, extending the life for many years.
