June 18-20, ExCel in London. TB Davies returns to the capital to showcase their range of Working at Height access equipment and services. With ladder falls still the main cause of fatal accidents in 2018, get a closer look at the innovations TB Davies is bringing to the market to help bring these figures down.
Improving safety is the at the core of our work at TB Davies and in a joint effort with our partners, find new ways to engineer in safer solutions that help to make working at height safer. This includes collaboration with the Ladder Association, with whom we work closely on several committees including representation on the Association’s Council.
Over the last 12 months we’ve launched a new green range of ladders, steps and podiums that showcase a range of innovative features not available from any other ladder manufacturer. Namely, the Hyperlite Sumostance, MightyLite, Stadium Steps & SafetyCage from Little Giant. Green is the most visible colour on the spectrum, easier to see and therefore avoid. GroundCue™ is a completely new, smart device that gives an auditory and sensory alert when your foot steps onto the last tread – so you know when it is safe to step off. The all-new green GRP fibreglass weave is creating lighter ladders that over the course of a working week will save several tons of heavy lifting.
The recent launch of Abi’s Story from the Ladder Association, the focus is firmly on lowering the not just serious injuries as a result of falls from height, but also fatalities. Abi’s story is an in-depth interview with the daughter of Jason Anker MBE, a roofer who fell from an untied ladder 10ft up in 1993. The accident rendered Jason wheelchair bound. He’s worked closely with Ladder Association since. A slight change in tack this year, with ‘The Get a Grip’ campaign launched by Ladder Association in association with ROSPA sees the focus shift to the effect a fall has on
