Two brave souls from TB Davies plan to take on this year’s ‘Cardiff Half’ (Marathon). One of the biggest half-marathons in Europe, with an expected 27,500 entries. The course is flat and passes all the city’s best landmarks, with TB Davies’s premises just half a mile from the Cardiff Bay section.
Zoe Howells and Jay Slater from TB Davies are taking on the race and hoping for good weather to mount their challenge. The event will be the first outing for Jay, as Zoe has previously raced the course.
They are running in support of Cancer Research UK, a national charity that funds scientists, doctors and nurses to help beat cancer sooner.
“We’re hoping for two things on the day, beating our target to raise £1000 for Cancer Research UK and having good weather.”, announced James Gray, Marketing Director of TB Davies. “If we can get both, then that will make it hugely satisfying.”
Thousands of spectators are likely to line the roads and take advantage of the carnival atmosphere that descends on the weekend in a city renowned for its sporting passion.
From October 2022, the race is a member of the SuperHalfs, a global series of the world’s most prestigious half marathons, including races in Lisbon, Prague, Copenhagen, Cardiff and Valencia.
