If you’re looking for a sustainable loft ladder, it’s essential to ensure that the timber used in its production can be traced back to its source. At TB Davies, we believe in the sustainability of our products, which is why we have been members of FSC and PEFC for the past 10 years.
TB Davies is a member of both PEFC & FSC
The timber used for our loft ladders production comes from forests certified by either the PEFC or the FSC. The PEFC (Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) is an independent, non-profit organisation that promotes sustainable forest management through certification. The FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) is another independent organisation that sets high standards for responsible forest management.
We are affiliated with both organisations and only purchase timber from suppliers who can provide us with a chain of custody certificate. This documents the path the timber took from the forest to our factory. This allows us to trace every piece of wood used in our ladders back to its origin.
In addition to being certified by the PEFC or FSC, all of the forests from which we source our timber are managed responsibly. This involves periodically replanting new trees, and only a certain number of trees are harvested each year to ensure that the forest can regrow.
By looking for the PEFC or FSC logos on products made with timber, you can be sure that the wood can be traced back to its source and that it comes from sustainably managed forests.
With TB Davies loft ladders, it means that you’re not only getting a high-quality product but one that has been produced in an environmentally-responsible way.
