80 Years of TB Davies
This week marks a special moment in our company’s history as we begin filming a short documentary to celebrate 80 years of TB Davies — eight decades of innovation, craftsmanship, and family ownership.
Working with Cardiff-based production company On-Par Video, the project follows Patrick Gray (Chairman) and his son David Gray (Managing Director) as they retrace the company’s journey through the city where it all began.
Revisiting Our Cardiff Roots
From our first office on Park Place, through Charles Street, Neville Street, and Llandough Trading Estate, right up to our current headquarters on Lewis Road, Splott, each location represents a new chapter in our company’s history — and in Cardiff’s own industrial story.

It’s more than just a business story,” says David Gray.
“It’s about the people, the values, and the city that shaped who we are.”

Telling Our Story — Then and Now
The film captures genuine father-and-son conversations as they revisit the key locations that defined TB Davies’ evolution — from selling sterilisers and electrical supplies in the 1940s to becoming one of the UK’s leading ladder suppliers.
For the Gray family and the wider TB Davies team, this is more than a look back. It’s a celebration of the honesty, innovation, and care that have been at the heart of the business since 1945.
The finished film, Still Climbing — 80 Years of TB Davies, will premiere later this year and feature interviews, historic images, and unseen stories from our eight-decade journey.
