Wales 247 Features TB Davies Technical Director’s BSI Appointment

The appointment of TB Davies Technical Director Francis Camilleri as Chair of the British Standards Institution’s B512 Technical Committee has been featured by Wales 247.

The committee is responsible for developing and maintaining standards for portable ladders in the UK, including BS EN 131. It also coordinates the UK’s contribution to European ladder standards through CEN Technical Committee 93.

Francis has been a member of B512 for six years and also serves as Chair of the Ladder Association Technical Committee. His new position gives him a leading role in shaping the UK’s standards programme for portable access equipment.

The appointment comes at an important time for the industry, with ongoing concerns surrounding non-compliant ladders entering the UK market. Francis will work alongside representatives from the Ladder Association, Health and Safety Executive, Trading Standards and other industry bodies to help ensure ladder standards remain clear, current and effective.

His appointment reflects both his extensive technical experience and TB Davies’ long-standing commitment to improving product standards and safety when working at height.
